Huck’s Defeat

South Carolina historical marker 46-61, Battle of Huck's Defeat, describing the Patriot attack on Capt. Christian Huck's troops at the Williamson plantation on July 12, 1780

I had the pleasure of attending a Revolutionary War reenactment of Huck’s Defeat, aka the Battle of Williamson’s Plantation, at Historic Brattonsville, in McConnells, SC on July 16, 2022. It was a great road trip through beautiful country. It was hot, humid, and there was a crazy loud (but refreshing) thunderstorm to close out the day.

The permanent Huck’s Defeat page has been updated with all of the photos and information.

Here’s my best photo of the day…lots more posted at the page!

Travel note – Stopped off at McLeod Farms Peach Farm stand in McBee, SC on the way home.

Who knew Peach Enchiladas were a thing? I sure do now…
