Research Trip Miscellany

Last week I had the opportunity to speak on the Holland and Adair families at the Laurens County Genealogy Society meeting, and I spent a few hectic days running around upstate. There will be a flurry of posts to come shortly, on everything ranging from Paris Mountain, to Laurens and Clinton, to the Palmetto Trail at Blackstock Plantation, and The Battle of Camden event.

I spent a rainy Friday at the Laurens County Library Elaine Martin Genealogy Room, I’ll drop this little tidbit here. On the wall, was a framed, handwritten poem that caught my eye (on the way to the land grant maps!). Imagine my surprise and delight to have Archibald Rutledge from Hampton Plantation greet me at the upstate library! I love how the photo captured the library reflection.

More to come…
