Another excellent learning experience facilitated by historian and now battlefield owner Durant Ashmore. The preservation work, the storytelling, the historic preservation that he has made possible is absolute gold. Priceless.
Observations:
No matter how many times I get the opportunity to hear Mr, Ashmore speak, or read something he’s written, I learn something new.
No matter how many times I hear the story of Daniel and Joseph Williams, their tragic fate literally hurts my heart.
There is a love of history here in South Carolina that binds people together. There were a lot of folks today, folks who have nothing really in common – except for this love of history.
